Community Outreach Programs
and
Fundraising Projects

The Performers With Purpose Foundation offers FREE Music and Songwriting Events for children in schools and hospitals. During Music Maker events, children learn basic singing techniques and have fun learning how to write songs that express their thoughts and feelings.
These events are paid for through grants and donations to our Performance Fund
Why are the Performing Arts so Important?
Music, dance, film, television, and theatre productions are not just forms of entertainment, they are essential parts of our life. The performing arts help people to learn who they are as human beings, how to express emotions, and how to treat one another. The performing arts teach empathy, kindness, love, compassion, and understanding. The performing arts teach communication skills and self expression. By giving the community shared experiences and social connections, the performing arts can honor historical values, stories, customs, and cultural enrichment.
Getting involved in the performing arts teaches people how to have courage and take risks. They learn to set goals and try new things. They become focused and committed, and they work hard to get the job done. They live their lives with poise, confidence, and integrity. People involved in the performing arts learn how to manage multiple projects at a time, and how to turn failure into success. They learn to be mindful and live with a purpose.
Music, acting, and dance teach people to think outside the box, experiment, and adapt. Improvisation teaches problem solving skills as performers learn to think quickly, make decisions, and pivot when things don’t go exactly as planned. These are skills that are valuable to any career. The performing arts strengthen memory, critical thinking, expression, and focus… thus, boosting math, reading, and science skills. Performing teaches discipline, resilience, teamwork, and the ability to handle feedback. They learn how to speak clearly and project their voice, emotions, and physically movements effectively. They learn to be committed and focused. They learn to take direction, develop a strong work ethic, and work well with others. The performing arts also help to develop long lasting relationships and networking opportunities. The performing arts help to build creative, thoughtful, and capable humans who seek knowledge and become great leaders. As Albert Einstein once said, “Creativity is more important than knowledge.”
Additional benefits of the performing arts include:
Physical Health-Improved health, balance, strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, motor skills, physical exercise, healthy lifestyle choices, motivation
Social Skills-Taking turns, listening, leadership, following instructions, team building
Language Skills-Emotional Development, Creativity, Expression, Joy, Inspiration
Through the Performing Arts, we have the ability to spread kindness, inspire others, and make the world a better place!
